Ceremonies of Love

Your ceremony is such a special moment in your day, it is really important that it reflects your life and your love. A celebrant-led ceremony of love is about making the ceremony perfect for you, or as one of my brides described it, ‘a ceremony hand made with love', like the rest of their day. I specialise in natural ceremonies of love and family-focused ceremonies. Whether you are thinking about having a special ceremony at home, on the beach or at a venue that you love. A ceremony that includes your children, or an outdoor ceremony where you can get back to nature, bring the dogs and keep things as green as possible I can help. You can read a bit more about ceremonies of love including weddings, vow renewals, handfasting ceremonies and baby naming ceremonies below.

Weddings and Celebrations of Love

Whether you are planning a wedding, handfasting, renewal of vows or a simple elopement it’s important your celebration of love is perfect for you down to every last detail. As a celebrant, I create with you a personal ceremony that is focused on you and written for you. Because we don’t have to worry about any legal restrictions this can take place anywhere, at any time, even under the stars. You can exchange vows and include rings and I will create a certificate for you so these are unique and personal. If you have a particular faith or belief, but don’t want a religious service, you can include a religious or spiritual element.

You can also include personal touches like a toast or sand ceremony or a special moment for children. Ceremonies can be pet friendly so if you want them there pets can be a special part of the day, along with your family and friends. If you are looking for something that is truly unique and fits you as a couple then a celebrant ceremony may be the right choice for you.

Handfasting Ceremonies

A Handfasting Ceremony represents unity, togetherness and being bound to the one that you love. It is an ancient Celtic Custom and is a lovely way to say 'I do' which literally symbolises 'tying the knot', and the way your lives have been bound together with your love. Because the legal part of a marriage has already taken place it means there are no restrictions. You can include fun elements like a toast with your favourite drink, as well as traditional elements like your vows and exchange of rings or keep it really simple.

You can include people that are a special part of your life like children, family or even pets. While the ceremony can take place anywhere at a time of your choosing. If you decide you want to embrace the handfasting tradition to the fullest you can also end the ceremony by 'jumping the broom' as you step into your next adventure together. It's about finding how you want to 'tie the knot'.

Baby Naming & Welcoming Ceremonies

As a mum, I know just how special a new addition to the family is, someone who means the world to you has just come into your life, and it is something you want to celebrate. A baby naming ceremony is a really nice way to do this with family and friends. It's something you can have in addition to a christening if you want a personal ceremony welcoming your child. You can do this at any time so you may want to wait for a special occasion like a 1st birthday when you can celebrate the little person they are growing into. It's also something you can have in place of a christening if you are not religious or want to leave the decision of being christened with your child. As the ceremony is focused on your belief and not theology you can still include a religious or spiritual element if you wish.

It's a chance to welcome your child into your family, whether they are a newborn baby, you have adopted or become a step-parent. Within the ceremony, we can celebrate the name you have chosen, or if you have adopted the name they have already been blessed with. You can add your own personal touches and the ceremony can take place at a time and place of your choice.
